Warren has been practising law for over twenty years in Kitchener-Waterloo. After completing his B.Sc. in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, he then attended the University of Western Ontario, completing his law degree in 1981. Upon his call to the bar in 1983, Warren joined Ted Giesbrecht in his practice.
Warren's practice has been primarily in the areas of corporate and commercial law, wills and estates, and real estate.He has advised charitable organizations and serves on the Board of Directors of local charities and corporations. He is presently on the Board of the Centre in the Square and Sunnyside Seniors Foundation. He has taught law courses to business and accounting students at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Waterloo for the past 15 years and assists the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in the area of the certification of out of province accountants. Being part of a team of ten instructors, Warren also provides continuing education for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada.
Warren is married and has two children. He enjoys golfing and skiing, has coached minor sports and is actively involved in the music and drama ministries at his church.
